This is the best single ended EL84 amp from this series. It has a built in preamp for photographic sound film and pick up / microphone.

  You should only use the power amp section to get hifi reproduction. Just connect an RCA jack to ground and to the connector marked with the red arrow (click here). Using the main amp input they work as power amps and the signal does not pass any controls.

Some test results (using the power amp section only)

  - power output: 4.5 watts rms into 16Ohms @ 1kHz

  - frequency response (8Ohms load resistor @ 1 watt - 1kHz = 0dB):

    - highs: -3dB at 58kHz

    - bass: down to 20Hz with less than 0.2dB of loss

  - hum and noise is very fine: below -54dB (unweighted)
