Eurodyn style input selector with RIAA preamp

The Siemens 6SELA preamps may be very nice units, but I always missed a real RIAA equalization on them (of course you can use the microphone input and try to find a well sounding equalization with the treble and bass adjusts....). And furthermore I dislike adjusting the volume on two pots and a long signal path through unnecessary tube stages.

So I wanted a unit where the signal only passes the input selector and volume pot and having RCA jacks to connect the sources.

As front panel I took a cover from an Eurodyn rack and where I found original Siemens parts (input selector, on/off switch, Eurody rack cables) I used them. Unfortunately there are no RCA jacks from Siemens.

The RIAA preamp is a classic Dual TVV46 which can be found im many old Dual turntables from the 60s and 70s (as its successor, the TVV47). They sound good. Early units can use new transistors for a lower noise level.

The most difficult part was the volume pot. The old German "Preh" pot was not designed to be used with a Siemens knob. So I had to drill the two hole in the pot's axis to get the knob fixed in the original way.

The last picture shows the switching unit driving my Klangfilm V204 power amps.

In the future I want to connect the T-41 input transformers to offer the possibility to connect an MC cartridge.
